Down in the depths of Starfleet Administration, a bright-eyed and optimistic Vice Admiral had an idea. While looking at a list of names of some of the brightest minds enlisted in Starfleet, he noticed a common theme: these officers earned top rankings in their classes but haven’t had the ability to promote to the high-level positions as they should have. Whether it was from old disciplinary actions or the lack of solid interpersonal skills or the inability to obtain the big name connections needed in order to receive the more high-profile assignments, the brilliant officers listed before him had all gotten lost in the cracks.

After pulling some strings, the Admiral secured the mothballed Galaxy-class USS Centaurus of Obsidian Fleet’s Task Force 47-C and began to set in motion his grand experiment.

The goal: give these misfit enlisted men and women the second chance they deserve to achieve grand success in Starfleet and discover what the galaxy has in store for them.

Under the command of Commander Alexia Nolan, the USS Centaurus is tasked with all the odd-job missions that Obisidan Command require of it. From exploration to first contact to colony support to ferrying people around the galaxy, the USS Centaurus is always called when there's work that no one else wants to do.

As famously said by the United States Government: WE WANT YOU!

The USS Centaurus is seeking a crew of open-minded, creative, and fun people to round out our ragtag team of writers and push our storytelling to the next level.

We are open to any and all applicants and characters (within reason) regardless of experience or skill level.

Hey everyone,

This may come as a bit of a shock to some of you, but not to others, but after what I would call a wild ride that ended with a bit of a whimper, I am closing up shop for USS Centaurus.

I think if we're being honest with ourselves, things have been stagnating for quite some time, and the commitment really isn't there anymore. I had so much hope for this SIM, but the simple truth is, this may have been a hard concept to maintain in the long term.

I've personally lost a lot of the drive I once had for the SIM, and I've just not been able to recapture it again. No specific individual is to blame for this, it is just what it is. Sometimes a SIM takes to the ground running and keeps up its momentum - othertimes it burns out as it lacks the stamina to stay the course. I hold no malice towards anyone for how things turned out.

I want to thank everyone who has helped to contribute towards this SIM, and to apologise for how things turned out. Fun was had, and that's all we can ever ask of a SIM.

Doors will officially close next week, so if you want to grab bio details of your characters before that happens, or logs for future reference, you have until Friday next week. After that, I'll be closing up shop.

I wish you all good fortune and safe journey's

» New Plot!

Posted on Mon Apr 15th, 2019 @ 9:26am by Commander Alexia Hunter-Nolan in Sim Announcement

Hey Guys,

New plot is now up and available!

Please can you wrap up any outstanding logs you have for "Changes" so we can close that one off.

Sorry for the delay in getting this going, but I was waiting for a decision from Task Force Command, that didn't materialize, so I'm moving ahead with the plot.

Lets have some fun!

Posted on Wed Mar 6th, 2019 @ 9:50am by Commander Alexia Hunter-Nolan in Sim Announcement

Hey Guys,

There's been a few changes in the last couple of days, that I want you all to be aware of.

Firstly, I need to announce the sudden departure of our Acting Executive Officer, Lt. T'Shan. His reasons for leaving are his own, and we wish him well in his future endeavours.

With this departure, I am also delighted to report that we have our former Executive Officer returning with a new character! Please welcome aboard LtCmdr. Tommy Davenport, who'll be stepping in straight away. Tommy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role, having helped form this SIM back at the beginning, and is more than willing to help all of you with many Joint Logs!

With regards to the plot - I'm aware that it has dragged on waaaay too long, and is basically DOA at this point. I will be ending it with a bit of a time-jump, so as to get everyone settled back into ship-life, and to allow our newer members a chance to get in on a plot from the ground floor.

Hopefully, you've all had a chance to speak with LtJG. Ashan, our new CMO, but if you haven't - make sure you get a medical!

Lets get things back on track after our bad run of late!

Posted on Thu Dec 20th, 2018 @ 6:16pm by Commander Alexia Hunter-Nolan in Sim Announcement

Hey Everyone,

There's never an easy way to break this kind of news on a SIM, and certainly not before a major holiday.

It is with sincere regret that I must announce the passing of Steve/Remy on November 13th just past. You will all know him as Ensign Remmington (Remy) DuBare, our Cajun Helmsman. I am unsure of the exact cause of death, but those who have spoken to him know he was battling an illness in the weeks leading up to his departure "for a few days" just before the 13th.

He leaves behind a wife and young son, who reached out to inform me of his passing.

I have informed his wife of our collective sympathies and best wishes for the family.

I would advise anyone with an open Joint Log with Remy to close it down at this time. I will be retiring his character into the honour roll of former officers at the end of the weekend.

Posted on Tue Dec 4th, 2018 @ 9:19am by Commander Alexia Hunter-Nolan in Website Update

Hey Guys,

Just to apologise for the site issues we've been experiencing over the last few days.

This isn't the first time we've had this database issue with our current host - x10. In fact, this is the second time we've had a major disruption as a result of their mismanagement of their services.

However, it's virtually impossible to move our current site as-is to a new host without loosing everything we've accumulated thus far. All I can do is hope for no more disruptions.

Please do feel free to start logging again, as we begin our new plot at the end of this week!

We also welcome aboard our new Chief of Operations, Ensign Sara Dawson! Please make her feel welcome!
